Car lifted and being repairedCar lifts are an important aspect of every automobile-oriented business. Whether you’re into designing or cleaning services, here are some tips to bear in mind when buying car lifts.

Start with car capacity

Challenger car lift choices make it possible for you to get a unit that’s versatile weight-wise, according to JMC Equipment. This means that the car lift can handle all kinds of automobiles from the compact Prius to something more substantial. If you’re in a business, you have to be open to the possibility that several types of cars will come to you for service.

Check the footprint

A smaller footprint is almost always better because this gives you more room to work on. Space is a valuable commodity, so the best lifts are usually those that feature two solid bars that take up as little room as possible. Note that a big footprint doesn’t automatically mean a big weight capacity. However, you can also find scissors lifts, and four post lifts.

Check your groundwork

Not all surfaces can handle the installation of car lifts. You’d want to make sure that before putting one in your space, the concrete flooring you already have would be sturdy enough to withstand the weight and pressure of the item. Keep in mind that car lifts should not be installed near seams, cracks, and other parts of a building vulnerable to damage.

Know the power used

Car lifts are powered through different means. There are air-powered car lifts, portable lifts, car parking lifts, mechanical, and pit automotive lifts. Your choice obviously depends on exactly how you intend to use the product. Electric or hydraulic lifts are the ones popular in business concerns.

Of course, those are just some aspects to bear in mind when buying a brand new car lift. Note that price is not always equal to quality and in many cases, a second-hand lift is not always a bargain.
